Bhabhi

Get away by shedding cards; don't get stuck holding the last hand!

How to play

3 to 6 players. Standard 52-card deck dealt completely to all players.

The player holding the Ace of Spades must lead it to start the game.

Players must follow suit if able. If void in the led suit, you can throw any card (a Thulla penalty).

A Thulla ends the trick immediately. The player who played the highest card of the led suit must pick up all cards in the trick.

If everyone follows suit, the trick is cleared and the winner leads next. The last player left with cards loses as the Bhabhi.

About Bhabhi

Bhabhi, also known as Bhabhi Thulla or Getaway, is a fast-paced South Asian shedding card game. Players are dealt the full deck and must follow suit whenever possible, with the holder of the Ace of Spades opening the game. If you cannot follow suit, you play a Thulla penalty card, forcing whoever played the highest card of the led suit to pick up the entire trick. The goal is to get away by emptying your hand; the last player holding cards becomes the Bhabhi.

Tips for Bhabhi

  • Dump your dangerous high cards early when you are confident others can follow suit, avoiding getting stuck with them when a Thulla hits.
  • Work to void yourself in a short suit quickly so you gain the freedom to throw off-suit Thulla penalties at opponents.
  • Keep track of which players have already shown void in a suit so you avoid leading into their penalties.

Questions about Bhabhi

How many people can play Bhabhi?

Bhabhi is played by between 3 and 6 players. Real players and bots can share a table, so a game can always start even if you do not have enough people.

Can I play Bhabhi against the computer?

Yes. Pick easy, medium or hard bots and start straight away. Bots only use what a player in their seat could see, so they cannot peek at your cards.

Can I play Bhabhi online with friends?

Yes. Create a private room and share its code, or join a quick match. If someone drops out mid-game, a bot takes over their seat.
